The April Edit

The April Edit

Evening to you! How was work? I hope not shit, and full of annoying bastards. This is the first monthly round up of things I have liked. I love reading these kinds of posts so wanted to put them on SW too. They will vary but will often contain the usual; food, make up, films, TV series, skin care and fashion. So, shall we begin?

Starting with skin care. I am quite fussy when it comes to exfoliant, I like to try and keep it natural where possible but due to a recent bout of bad skin I have had to turn to something a little more industrial. This Malin & Goetz exfoliant is just incredible, it cleared my congested cheeks, makes skin looks bright and plumper. I have had this since Feb and use it twice a week. The downside is that it does contain micro beads and I know some people aren't keen on using them, totally fine as there are plenty other exfoliators out there. If you can suggest a reallly could one I could switch to I am all ears but this one has been skin changing.

Another favourite has been this Rodial cleansing balm. It contains your necessary salicylic acid, vit c, e and peptide. I notice a difference if I stop using this. I am keen to try the Pixi double cleanse but will definitely be keeping a little of this back just in case my skin doesn't like the Pixi. This has probably been my fave cleanser in the last year.

I am sure it will as Pixi Glow Tonic has been a firm favourite this month, I have been using it twice a day for the last month whereas before I was using it here and there. I have seen such a difference in my skin tone and texture when using this religiously and will not be stopping any time soon.

Shockingly there are only 2 make up items this month. My Nars Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc which is my holy grail make up item/could not live without it/almost had a breakdown when it was sold out WORLD WIDE. I will never take this foundation for granted again. I have a post coming up on foundations but spoiler. This will be number one due to perfect coverage (the colour is my exact skin), glowy loveliness and long lasting power.

Second item is the Clarins Rouge Eclat in Juicy Clementine. It is a fantastic corally/orange/red and suits all skin tones. The thing I love the most about this is the formula, it is exceptionally moisturising, as I am kinda over matt lips and how dry they make my lips feel.

Candle wise - April favourites has been this utter delight from Byredo, I bought the small one as I hadn't had a Byredo candle before and didn't want to splurge if they didnt burn well. Jesus. This scent is unlike anything I have smelt before. If you buy anything in this post...make it this!! Perfect sandalwoody warmness mixed with a little floral and vanilla. Get on it.

Fashion wise I have been wearing this white lace shirt to death over the past month. You will have seen it several times in the vlogs and on insta. The second item I dont have a photo for because I didn't know if we are at the stage where I can show you my underwear?

John Lewis released their new brand And/Or a few months ago, and at the time I didn't realise it was that brand. I was in the market for a new bra after not being measure since well...years! I got measured then off I went to choose a good looking boulder holder. The choice was a bit meh until I came to a little stand with And/Or and picked up a really pretty pinky nude lace bra. I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD it is the comfiest, perfectly fitting bra that ever existed. It sculpts beautifully and gives enough padding to be shapely without looking Jordan-esque. Gives great cleavage but also sits fine under a t-shirt. So, I went back and bought a second, which was this one. Which I didn't know till writing this that it was called Phoebe. Booby fate? I think so! This one fits beautifully but not as perfect as the nude one and gives less cleavage (which you may actually want!)

Food! Falafels! They are from Tesco, and free from everything. Apart from taste, because they have that by the bucket load. They are this brand, but spinach and pine nut. But I have tried the entire range and their delicious. Perfect for lunchbox, snack box, pre dinner snackette.

Finally, leisure! Going to start with what has become my Thursday evening routine. It is Small Town Murder podcast and colouring. The boys behind STM are hilarious, I love the indepth detail in to each backwards town in America and the amount of research that goes in to the murder. They inject so much of their personality and comedy which totally borders on inappropriate, but that is what I enjoy. If you love True Crime you will love Small Town Murder

Colouring wise, two books. One I picked up in Tesco and the other from Amazon, both are great but if I had to choose I think it would be the Tesco one (Zen Colouring). I like the monotony of the patterns more than the Enchanted Forest and find finishing a whole page of tiny flowers much more satisfying.

Hope you enjoyed! Let me know what you have been loving.
